About Natalya

Music as a way of gathering.

I’m Natalya, a DJ, live vocalist, music and event producer, composer, radio host and community builder, living and working on Whadjuk Nyungar boodjar in Perth / Boorloo.

From jazz to jungle, every sound I’ve loved since childhood finds its way into how I play.

With Vlad, my husband, I carried that love from Prague to London — first as Bugaboh & Afrodite, then as Pleasures — building our own nights across Dalston and Hackney Wick and playing stages from Ministry of Sound to EGG London.

As Afromuza, I held residencies across East London and played more than 20 UK weddings. In 2026 we came home to Western Australia, and Afromuza came with me.

Afromuza is how I gather people through music, and I’m grateful to the places, people and sounds that shaped it.

Sound and story

Behind the music

In 2019 my duo Pleasures released our debut EP, Kora, and began Tasting Sounds on Music Box Radio UK, which ran into 2025.

Since 2020 I’ve produced and presented my own monthly show on Netil Radio, Monachopsis. It began from the feeling of never fitting in, bringing music you wouldn’t expect to belong together side by side. It’s still running.

I’ve also co-composed and co-produced scores for short films, including Things We Never Say (2017) and Supper (2023).

Genre-fluid. People-led.

Perth wedding DJ & Christmas party DJ.

My sets are genre-fluid, and I play with respect for where each sound comes from.

From global grooves to straight-up bangers, the music meets the people in it.

I’m also the founder of The Organic Afro, a community of around 6,000 people, and an educator with 15 years across teaching, arts and cultural work. Care for community is at the heart of how I work.

Whether it’s a wedding, a gathering, a Christmas function, or a corporate or cultural event, I’d love to hear about your people and what you want the day to hold.
